Keep your cool in the Far North with new 3-way fridge for the tropics

  • Written by Chloe Fitzgerald

Bridging the gap that has long divided two-way and three-way refrigerator enthusiasts, Aussie Traveller’s new XCD caravan, hybrid campers and motorhome fridge offers exceptional cooling power with the functionality of an absorption fridge to accommodate Aussie explorers in the harshest of summers.

Aussie Traveller’s Managing Director Michael Freney, said he is excited to launch the new refrigerator in the market as the product provides the perfect cooling solution for travellers on the road without compromising efficiency.

There’s long been a divide in the market between compressor and three-way fridges, with each type sacrificing and compromising in some way,” Mr Freney said.

Usually three-way fridges fair really well with their silent running and ability to power up by battery, electricity or gas, but are sometimes let down on just how cool they get the milk and beer.

We wanted to create a solution that offered customers the best of both worlds. We wanted travellers in the harsh Cairns and Darwin climates to be able to enjoy a cold beer and wine with the rest of us!”

The XCD fridge comes in both a 90L and 180L capacity, with the fridge temperatures capable of achieving temperatures of 2-3 degrees Celsius, and the freezers -15 to -18 degrees Celsius.

It also offers an Energy Selection option so that it chooses the best power supply available, or can be set manually to control power consumption.

With studies from Tourism Research Australia revealing that 90 percent1 of caravanning and camping trips occur in regional areas, a three-way fridge could solve potential power supply issues, as it is extremely efficient on 13g/hr propane gas and can stay cold for up to three weeks on a single 9kg gas bottle.

With a latch to prevent opening while travelling, the ability to select the hinge on either the left side or the right, and the choice of two sizes in a stylish black design, Aussie Traveller’s XCD fridge has been designed to suit a range of weather conditions and replace most existing 3-way fridges in caravans and motorhomes.
