The Future of Engineering

  • Written by NewsServices.com

Engineering has always been an important part of our society. From the discovery of fire and the creation of the wheel, engineering has molded our world into what it is today. It can be used in every application, from medicine to mechanics and even entertainment. Brilliant minds take a problem that’s affecting our livelihood or an idea that could change the way we normally live and create tools and systems that bring the solution into reality.

Here are some of the things we will see in the future of engineering.

Space Engineering

Some people say that space is our final frontier. Something new is discovered about space each and every day. It’s a wonder that never ceases to astonish engineers and people all over the world. While visionaries like Elon Musk and the engineers who follow him continue to develop solutions to take us further in the space race, the future of engineering will include many more solutions that will directly impact our lives in space. Space engineering includes the design and construction of space equipment and spacecraft as well as structure design for daily living.

The wonderful part about this future engineering aspect is that you can work in it by first earning an online masters electrical engineering degree from the University of Cincinnati. In this master’s degree program, you’ll learn about future technological advances within the manufacturing field. You’ll work in research and development, electrical systems, device designs, and large-scale electrical systems. You’ll also work within industry 4.0, which includes robotics, big data, sensors, and cyber security among other things. If you’re already working in engineering and are always looking for challenging opportunities, you’ll be an excellent fit for this master’s degree program.

Health Trackers

Another engineering field for the future includes health tracking. This field will include the intricate study and research of ongoing diseases. It will also include the development of tracking devices that will monitor the wearer’s health. Devices may capture changes in health conditions, brain signals, blood pressure, and other details that may indicate or even diagnose a condition based on its symptoms. These health trackers will be placed in different parts of the body such as internal organs, under the skin, in the mouth, and within our bones. This type of engineering can be achieved through electrical, mechanical, and biochemical engineering.

Artificial Intelligence

A popular field in the future of engineering is artificial intelligence (AI). Despite the many horror, science fiction, and dystopian depictions of AI in Hollywood films and television series, AI will be one of the most exciting fields in the future of engineering. Although AI is already being implemented in our technology, AI will play a massive role in the future of engineering. AI will help us travel through space, create unimaginable ideas, and potentially communicate with other possible species.

Anti-Aging

Finding the fountain of youth has forever been a goal for people all over the world. From the beginning of time, humans have been obsessed with looking and feeling younger. From using makeup and serums to soften the skin to getting facelifts and surgeries to eliminate the appearance of wrinkles and saggy skin, the human race continues to invent solutions to keep up with youthful appearances. Engineers in this field will come up with technologies and processes to enhance our beauty, soften complexions, and add color to our lives. These technologies could be wearables, contraptions, applications, and other things to increase our beauty standards and attempt to reverse our biological clock.

Jump into the world of engineering today to become an essential part of the future of society, whether it’s to fly us to Jupiter or make us look fabulous on Mars.
