  • Written by Modern Australian

History of tattoo:

You may see that people are fond of tattooing now, but it has been going on for centuries. This we found out when we found many old mummies. These tattooed mummies have been found not only in one place but in many parts of the earth. Including Egypt, China, Russia, Mongolia, Peru, Alaska, and many countries. It was part of their culture to tattoo different parts of their body, some people did it religiously. In ancient times, different tribes were recognized by their tattoo designs. A mummy has been found which is around 1000 years old, it has many tattoos on its body and this mummy is known as Chinchuro Man.

With the passage of time, tattooing has become fashionable. Even today, people feel proud of making it. According to statistics, around 60 percent of women and 43 percent of men worldwide have at least one tattoo. They look great but they cause many diseases in the body. Some people get tattoos as a hobby, but later regret why they got them, so they want to remove them in any way possible. There are many ways to get rid of a tattoo like dermabrasion, laser treatment, surgeries, and applying creams, etc. These are expensive methods. But the cost to remove a tattoo depends on the size of the tattoo and your treatment.

Health Risks of Tattooing:

According to doctors, there are many types of toxic chemicals in ink used in tattooing. The red ink used for tattooing contains molecular sulfate. Other metals such as glass, titanium, chromium, nickel, and other metals are added to make other colored inks. These chemicals and substances can cause severe allergic reactions after the ink gets into your skin. According to the doctor, tattoos can cause many diseases like cancer, hepatitis B and C, swelling, and bacterial infections like cellulitis, etc. Some tattoo artists use non-sterile equipment to use the same needle for everyone. The risk of HIV infection through tattoos and piercings is shallow. But in some cases worldwide, statistics show that there is about a 0.3 to 0.5 percent risk of HIV transmission during the tattooing process. To protect the customer from any dangerous disease, the tattoo artist should wear gloves during the procedure.

Disadvantages:

  1. Some companies and organizations do not hire people because they have tattoos. If you are qualified for a certain job but have a prominent tattoo, you may not get that job.
  2. These tattoos are permanent and with the passage of time, you will regret why you got these tattoos.
  3. Removing a tattoo from your body is a very difficult and expensive process.
  4. With the passage of time, its ink gets dull which makes it look very bad.
  5. As you get older, your skin hangs, due to which its beauty is lost.
  6. After getting the tattoo you can face many skin problems like keloids. Keloid is a thick scar raised above your skin.
  7. One of the biggest disadvantages of getting a tattoo is that you cannot donate blood if someone really needs it.
