Hoteliers Look to Clever Value Adds to Increase Revenue

The Australian hospitality industry is still in recovery mode after a notoriously rough patch in recent years. While there has been a post-COVID travel boom globally, it has done much more than bring guests back. It has also fundamentally reshaped the industry.

Successful operators are looking for clever value adds to attract more guests and increase revenue as they spend more within the hotel instead of exploring third-party outlets; a far cry from basic, rigid room rates.

Every hotel has a standard suite of premium food and beverage packages, wellness spaces, and corporate conference rooms. While these remain essential upsells in hotels, luxury hotspots across the Gold Coast, Barrier Reef, and Noosa are entering charter boat partnerships to offer their guests premium pontoon boat experiences on the water.

The Secret Weapon

A private party boat delivers what affluent clients are looking for and allows them to spend more within the hotel.

Historically, the hotels on the lake, river, or canal have struggled to compete against luxe hotels delivering Australia’s most famous big white beaches. Now, they’re learning to maximise their offering by taking advantage of their unique location. While guests may still love a mani-pedi and a full day in the spa, there is more to holidays than a beachside balcony.

Now, guests can opt for a half-day private party boat charter or spend an entire day on the water. Whatever they choose, the luxury BBQ boats deliver on view, experience, and relaxation, which is reeling in the premium crowd.

Pontoon Boats deliver Insta-worthy content, whether guests are looking for bubbles on the water for a hen night or a foodie cruise hosted by an excellent chef. Clients enjoy the benefits of a luxury experience without the price tag associated with chartering a private yacht.

Domination

Hotels are looking to pontoon boats in a bid to dominate the space, investing in what they view as floating luxury venues. As an extension of the hotel, these spacious boats allow for intimate wedding celebrations, family gatherings, and catered corporate lunches. It’s a seamless way to elevate guest experiences while ensuring every dollar they spend during their stay is flowing right back to the hotel.

By offering these value experiences without the insane price tag, more guests will book a stay. Consumers are looking for the most bang for their buck, and the hotels that can deliver that experience will be the hotels that thrive, no matter what the industry experiences.
