Noosa Heads in Queensland destinations top TripAdvisor list

Queensland has landed five of Australia’s top ten favourite destinations in TripAdvisor's 2016 Traveller’s Choice Awards.
The Gold Coast, Brisbane, Cairns, Port Douglas and Noosa appeared in the top ten of the country’s best places to visit.
Queensland was the only state to have regional destinations included in the top ten, showing the diversity of tourism offerings.
Tourism and Events Queensland (TEQ) CEO Leanne Coddington said it was recognition to industry across the state to have a wide range of destinations in the top ten.
“That’s what sets Queensland apart, its range of tourism experiences from the Great Barrier Reef, golden beaches, tropical rainforests and hinterland escapes,” Ms Coddington said.
“It is fantastic to see that on the back of record international and domestic tourism growth that Queensland has won the people’s vote as the best address on earth.”
Gold Coast Tourism CEO Martin Winter said the City was honoured to be named in the top ten.
“This is a terrific achievement for the Gold Coast and is testament to the fact that the Gold Coast continues to deliver incredible experiences which places us in the top of Australia’s most popular destinations,” Mr Winter said.
“Our city’s travel offering is outstanding and it is great to see TripAdvisor global users agree, that some of the best Australia has to offer can be experienced right here on the Gold Coast.”
