Langham, Melbourne Romantic Dining Destination

  • Written by Tara Bishop

Cupid has a cure for this year's hump day Valentine's Day on Wednesday 14 February. It's called dining at The Langham, Melbourne.

For dinner, The Langham, Melbourne's award-winning Melba Restaurant is catering for couples with the restaurant's impressive open kitchen serving a host of romantic dishes and known aphrodisiacs including fresh oysters, red velvet cheesecake, strawberry éclairs, Champagne pink macarons, rose pannacotta and a strawberry chocolate fountain as well as made-to-order sushi, roasted Atlantic salmon, freshly made naan and luxurious lobster thermidor.

$165.00 per person includes Melba's renowned buffet as well as choice of a Chocolate Raspberry Kisses cocktail or Crown Lager upon arrival. Couples may secure a window table for an additional $25.00 per person and arrange a choice of free-flowing sparkling wine, a Chocolate Raspberry Kisses cocktail or Crown lager for $30.00 per person. Dinner is available from 5pm until 8pm and 8.30pm until 11pm.

Melba Restaurant also has lunch bookings available for $64.00 per person and the option to arrange a window table and free-flowing beverages. Diners can feast upon Japanese, fresh seafood, Indian dishes, steaks grilled to order, Chinese dumplings, Malaysian stir-fries, Italian pasta dishes, wok-fried noodles and more.

Afternoon Tea at Aria Bar & Lounge

The Langham, Melbourne understands that mid-week is not synonymous with romance and that not everyone wants to dine on Valentine's Day surrounded by a sea of tables for two.

With this in mind, The Langham, Melbourne is offering a Cupid's High Tea at Aria Bar & Lounge on weekdays from Thursday 8 February until Thursday 15 February.

Cupid's High Tea will bring out the best in even the most reluctant romantic as guests will sip expertly made teas accompanied by a high tea stand laden with hand-dipped pink chocolate strawberries, raspberry meringue kisses, raspberry tart with rose petal, buttermilk scones with rose jam and slices of lychee almond sponge with rose ganache.

$59.00 per person or $73.00 per person includes a glass of free flowing premium sparkling wine.  The Cupid's High Tea is $69.00 per person on Valentine's Day.

To make Valentine's Day even more memorable, The Langham, Melbourne is collaborating with Cartel flowers to deliver a personalised box of premium red roses ($185.00) to be waiting at Melba Restaurant or Aria Bar & Lounge upon arrival. Now, that's an impressive gesture that won't be forgotten.

Bookings can be made by contacting rest.res@langhamhotels.com or by calling 1800 641 107.

For those looking for the perfect Valentine's Day gift, The Langham, Melbourne has narrowed down the field to two recommendations. A Sun Kissed Summer for Two at Chuan Spa includes two 60 minute massages, a hair mask and access to the spa's spacious sun deck and pool, a fruit platter for two and two glasses of premium sparkling wine for $279.00.

The Langham, Melbourne's Sleeping Beauty accommodation package is available from $390.00 per room, per night and includes a decadent 2pm check out, breakfast for two at Melba Restaurant, access to the hotel's Chuan Spa, pool deck and fitness centre and valet parking.

Both gifts are available for purchase at langhamgifts.com.au.

The Langham, Melbourne is widely regarded as one of Australia's most romantic hotels and has hosted countless wedding proposals, weddings and been the hotel of choice for newlyweds and anniversaries.
