Thrill on Wheels and Paul Sera’s Radial Life

  • Written by John Henry

A large number of people on the planet are fascinated by motorsports, but how many of them really make it to the track?

Well, when you have an undying passion for things on wheels, you do make your way in. Just like Paul Sera did. From a full-time IT expert in several popular MNCs to a self-employed car enthusiast organising wheel-spinning drag races under his venture Radial Life, Paul Sera is living it all.

There’s a lot to learn from his venture, ideologies and the entrepreneurial path that he chose.

Let us find out what ignited Paul’s passion for racing, and what led him to finally pursue his side hustle.

First of All, What is Radial Life?

As Paul says, Radial Life is a brand for Automotive Enthusiasts. The company supplies a variety of merchandise including Automotive Clothing.

Apart from that, the company aims at bringing exciting car events, car shows and MORE things to Australia. Since its inception, Paul Sera has hosted two huge Drag Racing events, namely No Excuses 1 and No Excuses 2, and this is just the beginning.

But what got him on his toes to work around modified and fast cars? Here’s the story.

What’s the Motivation?

Being born and brought up in a family with a father and another brother talking and loving cars at all times, Paul was exposed to the wheels early in life. On weekends, they would visit the Go-karting tracks to get their adrenaline fix.

This early exposure to racing also allowed him to rub shoulders and “paint” with some of the present-day racing stars.

And then, there was no turning back! Apart from racing cars, Paul served a number of Digital Marketing and IT professional roles in multiple MNCs including a few Fortune 500s.

In one of his vlogs, Paul talks about how in 2014, he was told that he may soon become redundant for his company. That’s what motivated him to work harder for the big shift from being a corporate professional to a drag racing entrepreneur.

As Paul says, the first six months went a little too dry on the financial front. However, now, in 2020, Paul is entirely self-employed and motivating hundreds of others to pursue their passions and side hustle while walking the entrepreneurial path.

Events By Now

As stated above, Sera has organised two events under his brand name Radial Life. This section elaborates on those two events.

No Excuses 1

This was the first event organized by Radial Life at the Ballarat Airport on 1st December, 2018. It was a hands up elimination event with the following classes based on tyre size:

R235 (For cars running up to a 235 Radial)

R275 (For cars running up to a 275 Radial)

R325 (For cars running up to a 325 Radial)

If you wish to watch the thrill in action, here’s the video.

No Excuses 2

Followed by No Excuses 1, No Excuses 2 was held at the Ballarat airport on 22nd February, 2020. The classes were based on tyre size and were as follows:

R235 (For cars running up to a 235 Radial)

R275 (For cars running up to a 275 Radial)

R325 (For cars running up to a 325 Radial)
