5 unique ways to extract toxins from your body

  • Written by Sarah Dodaro

City living can be great apart from all the environmental stresses that your skin is exposed to. Pollution, dirt’s and oils are constantly present no matter where we go so keeping our skin clean and clear of impurities can sometimes be difficult. You can of course find yourself a skincare routine that works for you, with endless products on the market to assist with cleansing and clearing however here are 5 unique ways you can extract toxins from your body:

  1. Activated Charcoal

Using charcoal on our skin can sound like a foreign concept however as an ingredient it has the strength to deeply cleanse and extract impurities from the depths of our pores. A product such as Natura Siberica Northern Collection Detox Soap for Deep Facial Cleansing, using this activated ingredient along with a number of other unique properties to deeply detox your skin, helping the overall cleanliness, tone and appearance of your skin.

  2. Microdermabrasion

Also recognised as a mini vacuum for your face this little suction tool is a great way to quite literally suck out the toxins from our skin. Usually the best microdermabrasion takes about 10-30 minute treatment, this method is a great way to see and feel instant results. This service is offered in most clinics and spas however portable and at home microdermabrasion kits are also available to purchase online.

  3. Body Wraps and Masks

Body wraps and masks are an upcoming trend that have been recently added to spa treatments and menus. Whole body wraps are a detoxing treatment where a beauty therapist will wrap your entire body in particular minerals, clays and sometimes mud in order to extract toxins and remove dead skin cells to leave your body feeling cleansed and fresh.

  4. Facial Shaving

To women especially facial shaving is something that people are often hesitant to do. There is always the fear that once you shave your hair wherever that may be, it will grow back darker and thicker however recent trends have shown that facial shaving and razors are making an appearance. A single bladed tool helps to not only remove the fuzz off your skin however it can also help remove toxins that are on the surface of our skin along with any dead cells.

  5. Face Sauna

A face sauna is exactly what it sounds like, a sauna for your face! A device you place your face into that steams out hot water directly to your skin. The face sauna has similar benefits to a regular sauna, opening up your skins pores and relieving the toxins and oils from deep within your face and bringing them to the skins surface. Steaming your face can be a great way to cleanse beneath the surface and to draw out any underneath toxins from your skin.
