Tips to get softer skin

Our skin is one of the most prominent features of our body. Your skin can tell a lot about how you care for it and how concerned you are with hygiene and maintain yourself. If you’re blessed with clear and smooth skin, there’s a high chance you have really good genes. However, most of us suffer from acne-prone, dull, problematic skin. Common among the many skin kinds include; oily skin, dry skin, and combination skin.

You must determine what kind of skin you have and the texture it contains. Oily skin cannot be treated the same as dry skin and vice versa. Your country’s climate and your environment also plays a huge role in the condition of your skin, and it’s also possible that your skin adapts itself to the specific nature of the climate. If you have oily skin, for instance, and you live in Alaska, your skin type will automatically change itself as per the weather, thus making it dry.

Everybody wishes to have smooth, acne-free, soft skin, and there’s no doubt in that. While climate and genes affect our skin condition to the extent that does not mean you can’t ever clear up your skin and get healthy, glowing skin. With the right kind of diet, a healthy lifestyle and a proper skincare routine, it’s possible that you too can have healthy, baby looking skin in no time. To get softer skin, you must work on and improve the overall condition of your skin first and use good quality hand and body lotion as well. Here are some common factors you can work on to improve the condition of your skin and make it 10x softer.

Diet

Yes, there’s no easy way to everything. If you’ve been hearing from a lot of people on how your diet reflects on your face, there’s no rumor to that. Eating clean is only going to help you in getting clearer, soft skin and will boost up the process by other factors (as discussed below). You must eat a ton of vegetables, especially leafy greens and crunchy ones. Pineapple, ginger, garlic contains antibacterial properties and can help clear your skin from within. Overall you must follow a balanced diet with whole grains that have the right nutrients.

Sleep

Beauty sleep is no myth. Everyone needs their beauty sleep to look fresh and healthy always. Your sleeping routine also comes into play when it comes to the condition of your skin. You must get ample amount of sleep, which is at least 7-8 hours, not just for you to remain active and productive throughout the day but also for allowing your skin to rejuvenate itself by increasing blood flow, rebuilding collagen and repair damage caused from UV exposure and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. A good night’s sleep can make you look plump and younger.

Exercise

Exercising regularly is a great way for you to get rid of toxins from your body. Eating healthy is a great start for your skin to be better than ever, but you also can speed up this very process. This can easily be done so with the help of adding exercise to your daily routine. Working out for merely 20-30 minutes every day is good enough to help with your skin. Exercise makes you look plumper due to blood volume being pumped through the vessels of your face. It reduces inflammation and allows your skin to get rid of sebaceous filaments and clogged pores.

Exfoliate

While you’re from within your skin, it’s also possible that you can work on the texture of your skin from the outside and improve its softness. Exfoliating 2-3 times a week is a good way for you to get rid of dead skin cells on the surface and thus gives you a brighter looking appearance instantly. It makes your skin look and feels a lot softer than it was before. Be sure not to overdo it as over-exfoliating can cause your skin to be dry and flaky and do more damage than good. There are several methods you can follow to make your exfoliation scrubs with natural products rather than buying expensive, chemical-induced ones.

Cleanse

In addition to exfoliation, it’s also important that you cleanse. You’re probably aware of the term ‘double cleansing’ as most beauty gurus talk about how removing makeup it’s very important and to ensure there’s no residue left behind, you must double cleanse. This helps you get rid of dirt, unclogs pores, gets rid of excess grease and oils on the face and helps to remove makeup properly from the surface of your skin. Again be careful with this as harsh cleansers that are overused can dry out your skin and strip off the natural oils from your skin.

Moisturize

If we can’t make it more obvious with when it comes to making your skin look ‘softer’, then you must consider moisturizing your face, regularly. There’s a common misconception that people who have oily skin don’t need to moisturize their face which is not the case everybody needs to moisturize to balance your skin’s PH levels and to keep your skin looking hydrated. For oily skin types, it’s recommended that you use water or gel-based moisturizers such as aloe vera gel, whereas those who have dry skin can use moisturizers that contain essential oils that will give your face the exact glow it needs.

Water

Staying hydrated by drinking plenty of water is a great way to hydrate your skin from within. Drinking at least 8, 8-ounce glasses of water a day helps in flushing out toxins from your body and does help to clear your skin out. Your cells tend to get to plumper with the more water you drink. You can also eat fruits and vegetables that are high in water content such as cucumbers and watermelon. A lot of people who don’t like the taste of water have resorted to drinking flavored water such as the famous detox water which is a way for you to stay hydrated. You must drink your water even if you’re not thirsty, to maintain your healthy skin.

Sunscreen

The UV protection is necessary! Consider using products that contain SPF to reduce skin damage to the minimum. If your skin is not protected from harmful sun rays properly, it can give you problems in the long run due to unprotected sun exposure which destroys the collagen and elastin that aid in comprising are tissues of our skin. Even if it’s cloudy outside, you must always wear your SPF no matter what and reapply it every 2 hours so that you know your skin is not being damaged while you’re running errands outside or even enjoying a family picnic. You may get vitamin D from the sun, but it’s also important that you block out its harmful UV rays. Sunburnt skin can give you the appearance of rough, dry skin.

Summary

These tips may be super useful for you to get your skin back on track and also to look smooth and softer than usual. However, you must bear in mind that all this is not possible without consistency. Therefore, you must be persistent in religiously following a good skincare routine, a healthy diet and lifestyle. Be patient, and you’ll start noticing results in a week or so depending on your skin type.
